Like detective conan - breaking down poses feels like solving a mystery. You need to piece together various related poses and apply them to your body to figure out where your areas of opportunities are.
Additionally - one of the reasons why I think yoga is so fun is because it also feels like an RPG game. Let's say you're playing Diablo or Maple Story and want to attain a certain skill or use an item. There's a skill tree you need to follow and / or skill points you need to attain to get to the desired goal. In order to reach it - you need to figure out how to reverse engineer yourself just like how you can reverse engineer yourself into a yoga pose.
💡 Transformative tips:
1/ find accessible poses with overlapping priorities compared to the pose you want to learn how to do
2/ fidget in small movements to try and get into the correct alignment
3/ make a list on the major areas that you feel tight
4/ compare the areas of opportunities in both the poses
5/ stack rank the mobility areas on how important they are to the pose you want to do
Ex. pigeon vs deer
observation 1: you are limited in internal rotation & groin flexibility for both poses
observation 2: you can get your back leg in pigeon internally rotated enough to be in line with your hip BUT your groin is tight in both
potential area of opportunity: probably should start working on your groin flexibility over your internal rotation
